Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident right from the first day she enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After only 10 weeks after the first time she tried, she came in second place in the 200 meter sprint during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix got a contract to pursue a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. As of 2005, she was the youngest World Champion in the 200m of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She retained her title in 2007 surpassing her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix has consistently placed at the top of the podium throughout her events in the Olympics that took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
